Privacy Statement
This is to inform the customer, that in the course of a product download, CARFAX will automatically store customer's Personal Data. Personal Data is such data that may be directly or indirectly linked to a given natural person.
CARFAX' and CARFAX employee's handling of Personal Data is, inter alia, subject to the statutory requirements of the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG) and the Telemediengesetz (TMG). According to these legal provisions, storing, processing and transferring of Personal Data is lawful, if such data is needed for contractual purposes.
CARFAX thus may use customer's Personal Data for due performance of contract; including, but not limited to, billing purposes, post-sale communication with customer and handling customer complaints.
In the case the customer has given his consent by selecting the appropriate box in the order form, CARFAX may also use Personal Data for customer services, such as providing product information as well as market research and anonymous customer statistics purposes.
CARFAX will not transfer any Personal Data to third parties excluding CARFAX subsidiaries. CARFAX will delete any and all Personal Data insofar as deletion is prescribed by law or the data is no longer needed for CARFAX' purposes.
The Customer is aware that he may at any time revoke his consent in whole or in part. Customer is further aware, that he has the right to get information on how CARFAX stores and processes his data and secures it against unauthorised access by third parties.

CARFAX stores and processes the following Personal Data: customer name and IP-address; email address; customer's credit card number and/or customer's banking details; type and quantity of products bought and transaction details.
When the CARFAX website is accessed, general non-personal information, such as the type of used web browser, the type of used PC operating system and the domain name of customer's web services provider is also stored. CARFAX uses cookies to facilitate customer communication. Cookies are saved on customer's hard disk. The cookies are not harmful to customer's computer and do not contain any of customer's Personal Data.
