Product Owner
(m/f/d) CARFAX Europe GmbH provides trusted information that helps millions of people to shop, buy, own and sell used cars with more confidence. Our flagship service is our Vehicle History Report, a curriculum vitae for used vehicles to solve the asymmetric information problem in the used car market. Our customers get access to an extensive multinational database consisting of +27 billion historical records related to over 1 billion cars in +20 countries across Europe and North America. Today, we are a team of 100+ people in six European countries – while retaining a start-up feeling including flat hierarchies and flexible decision-making processes. We are looking for an experienced Product Owner, who will be responsible for CARFAX‘ Delivery Platform, ensuring a seamless customer experience from quotation to service delivery. Internally, you will build the bridge between CARFAX core product development and the CARFAX distribution channels, including the management of our API & Business Channels.
Your role:
Act as the customers’ advocate articulating the users’ and/or buyers’ needs
Be a market expert. This includes a deep understanding of the competition, how customers think of and buy our product and an understanding of our users’ needs and feedback
Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmap, including go-lives, releases and respective communication
Translate product goals and incoming requirements into well-understandable backlog-items (epics/features/user stories) and define their acceptance criteria
Manage and order product backlog and ensure the list is transparent and visible
Prioritize backlog items and decide which features are to be built next by the Scrum teams
Ensure the Scrum team understands their tasks and works on the right features in the prioritized order
Accept the completed increments and make sure the work fulfills the criteria
Be the recognized product expert and the primary contact for solving product-related problems
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and ensure improvement of business values
Define and implement quality requirements, KPIs and controls
Develop business cases for new products, improvements to existing products, and business ventures
Your profile:
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in the IT, familiarity with Web platforms being an advantage
Deep understanding and experience with agile methodologies including tool knowledge (Jira/Confluence), experience in Scaled Scrum would be a plus
Experienced in the management of stakeholders and their expectations
Proven track record in roadmap, backlog and sprint planning and delivering potentially sellable product increments each sprint
Experience with the definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products
General knowledge about project and product management
The ability to break down complex matters into easy-to-understand pieces
Technical knowledge to gain an overall understanding of the technologies used in the product and to become a subject matter expert
Entrepreneurial mindset with collaborative, problem-solving working style
Creative, strategic, and analytical thinking
High organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, combined with detail orientation
Knowledge about market research and competitive analysis
Ability to coordinate and work with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal and to take decisions
Great interpersonal and leadership skills to develop relationships with team members, stakeholders and customers
Outstanding communication and presentation skills in English (C1+)
