UX Designer/Information Architect


CARFAX Europe GmbH provides trusted information that helps millions of people to shop, buy, own and sell used cars with more confidence. Our flagship service is our Vehicle History Report, a curriculum vitae for used vehicles to solve the asymmetric information problem in the used car market. Our customers get access to an extensive multinational database consisting of +27 billion historical records related to over 1 billion cars in +20 countries across Europe and North America.

Today, we are a team of 100+ people in six European countries – while retaining a start-up feeling including flat hierarchies and flexible decision-making processes.

We are looking for a dedicated UX Designer to help us drive the user experience of our digital solutions to the next level. Your goal is to create easy, positive and relevant state of the art experiences for our users.

Your role

  • Plan and conduct user research and competitor analysis

  • Interpret qualitative feedback

  • Create personas and user journeys

  • Define information architecture and create sitemaps

  • Create wireframes and interaction prototypes

  • Plan and conduct usability testing

  • Collaborate effectively with remote and onsite team members, including designers, product managers as well as owners, and developers

Your profile

  • Strong user centric mindset

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral as well as fluent English skills

  • Experienced in the common sketching/prototyping tools like such as Sketch or Adobe XD as well as Pen & Paper

  • Focused on the big picture but at the same time paying attention to small details.

  • Skilled in creating simple solutions for complex design problems

  • 2 year-experience in the creating state of the art user experiences of digital products and platforms

  • A strong desire to continuously improve within the field of UX and design

  • Ability to excite and engage those around you to bring about the best outcomes
